Available Treatments

Our linen fabrics can undergo various treatments to better suit any project, including:

• Dyeing: we offer a wide range of colors, and can dye in any tone.

• Screen printing – in one color, two colors, or however many are needed. We can print any logo or design on our fabrics.

• Carding: a process where softened fibers are aligned and cleaned to remove any impurities or irregularities.

• Ironing: the fabric is delivered already ironed by default, so this treatment is not usually necessary. However, we offer this finish to clients who desire it. It is done using a steam iron to remove any wrinkles.

• Singeing: This process removes excess fibers from the fabric, giving it that extra boost of softness and visual appeal.

• Water repellent or waterproofing: as the name suggests, this involves giving the fabric a finish that repels liquids.

• Flame retardant: This process involves applying a treatment to the linen fabric that improves its fire resistance, greatly reducing the fabric’s flammability and preventing the spread of flames.

• Calendering: a printing process that uses heat and pressure to transfer sublimation inks to the fabric. Using a calender, the ink is fused with the fibers of the material, allowing the colors to be vibrant and long-lasting. This process not only enhances the final product’s aesthetic but also ensures its resistance to wear and washing.

• Softening: this finish is applied to reduce the natural stiffness of the fibers, allowing the fabric to acquire a more flexible and pleasant texture. This process is carried out using softening agents that penetrate the fibers, relaxing their structure and improving the material’s malleability without compromising its strength or natural appearance. Thanks to softening, linen becomes more versatile for applications where a softer and more comfortable finish is desired, such as in decoration, upholstery, and home textiles.

• Washing: a process that helps clean and soften the fibers, removing impurities, dust, and natural residues that may remain in the fabric after production. Through careful washing, the linen becomes more manageable and pleasant to the touch, while achieving a more uniform and attractive tone, retaining its authenticity and natural look.

• Embroidery: Embroidery on linen is a decorative process where designs are applied with thread onto the fabric, adding personalized details and an artisanal touch. This finish adds a unique aesthetic to linen, perfect for fashion, decoration, and personalized products while preserving its rustic charm with greater visual sophistication.

• Starching: a finish that involves giving the fabric stiffness and body. This process improves the stability and durability of the fibers, making it ideal for uses where a more structured material is required, such as in the making of shoe soles, curtains, upholstery, and certain decorative products.

• Gumming: involves applying a layer of rubber or glue to the fibers to strengthen the structure and reduce fraying. This finish is ideal for industrial applications and crafts, adding greater strength to the fabric and making it easier to handle in various projects.

• Rameing: a stretching and stabilizing process applied to linen fabric, where heat and tension are used to align the fibers. This helps maintain the material’s shape and reduces shrinkage, making linen better able to maintain its dimensions and suitable for applications where precision is important, such as in tailoring and upholstery.

• Folding: this process involves pleating or folding linen into specific sections to facilitate handling and transportation. In addition to being practical, folding protects the fabric from damage and wear during storage, making it useful for those requiring smaller quantities of fabric.

• Printing: Printing allows patterns or designs to be applied using specific inks, adding customization and style to the material. This finish is popular in decoration, fashion, and accessories, allowing linen to maintain its natural character while adapting to different visual trends.

• Oxygenated or Greased: This process involves treating linen with oxygen or specific oils to improve its softness and reduce any natural odor from the fibers.
