Available Treatments

Our jute fabrics can undergo various treatments to better suit any project, such as:

• Dyeing (from 280 g/m²): Available in a wide range of colors, with the ability to dye in any shade.
• Screen printing: Available in one, two, or more colors. We can print any type of logo or design on our fabrics (only for weights over 280 g/m² and with a minimum order quantity).
• Carding: A process that softens, aligns, and cleans the fibers, removing any impurities or irregularities.
• Ironing: Burlap fabric is pre-ironed by default, but we offer this finish for customers who require it. It is done using a steam press to remove possible wrinkles.
• Singed finish: Removes additional fibers from the fabric, giving it extra softness and an improved visual appeal.
• Water-repellent or waterproofing: As the name suggests, this treatment gives the fabric a liquid-repellent finish.
• Fireproofing: A treatment applied to burlap fabric that significantly reduces its flammability and prevents flame spread.
• Calendering: A printing process that uses heat and pressure to transfer sublimation inks to the fabric, fusing the ink with the fibers to ensure vibrant, long-lasting colors.
• Softening: This finish reduces the natural stiffness of the fibers, making the fabric more flexible and pleasant to the touch without compromising its durability or natural look.
• Washing: Cleans and softens the fibers, removing impurities, dust, and natural residues from production, resulting in a smoother and more uniform fabric.
• Embroidery: A decorative process where designs are applied with thread to add personalized details and an artisanal touch.
• Starching: Adds stiffness and body to the fabric, improving its stability and durability, ideal for structured applications such as footwear soles, curtains, and upholstery.
• Gumming: A process that applies a layer of glue or gum to the fibers to strengthen the structure and reduce fraying, making it more resistant and easier to handle for industrial and craft projects.
• Rameing: A stretching and stabilizing process that applies heat and tension to align the fibers, preventing shrinkage and improving dimensional stability.
• Folding: Burlap is pleated or folded in specific sections for easier handling and transportation while protecting the fabric during storage.
• Printing: Allows for the application of patterns or designs with specific inks, adding customization and style while maintaining the fabric’s natural character.
• Oxygenation or oiling: This process treats the jute with oxygen or specific oils to improve softness and reduce any natural odor from the fibers, making it more manageable and visually appealing.
• Laminating: A protective layer (such as plastic or paper) is applied to the jute to enhance water resistance and durability, making it suitable for outdoor applications or packaging.
• Paper backing: A layer of paper is adhered to the jute, combining the fabric’s texture with the practicality of paper, useful for creative applications in stationery, decoration, and crafts.
• Antibacterial treatment: Helps prevent bacterial growth on the fabric, making it ideal for products that come into contact with people or food.
• Antistatic treatment: Reduces static electricity buildup in the fibers, improving comfort and making it suitable for industrial applications.
• Scented finish: Adds a light and pleasant fragrance to the jute, enhancing the sensory experience for those who handle or use the fabric in close proximity.
• Bagging: The final packaging process where the jute fabric is wrapped and packed into bags for protection during transport and storage.
