Description

Khaki Jute Fabric – 145 cm Wide, 280 g/m²
This khaki-colored jute fabric, with a weight of 280 g/m² and a width of 145 cm, is a versatile and durable option, perfect for projects requiring a natural and functional touch.

Khaki, also known as caqui, has its roots in military history. Its name comes from the English khaki, derived from the Hindi khaki and the Persian khak, meaning “dust.” It was first used in the uniforms of British colonial troops in India, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, who stained their white uniforms with dust to better camouflage themselves in their surroundings.

Beyond its practical use, this color symbolizes strength, seriousness, responsibility, and moderation, making it an excellent choice for decorative or functional projects that aim to convey these qualities.

Available Treatments

Our jute fabrics can undergo various treatments to better suit any project, including:

  • Dyeing (from 280 g/m²) – Available in a wide range of colors, with the ability to dye in any shade.
  • Screen Printing – One color, two colors, or more. We can print any logo or design on our fabrics (only for weights above 280 g/m² and with a minimum quantity).
  • Carding – A process that softens, aligns, and cleans the fibers to remove impurities or irregularities.
  • Ironing – The burlap fabric comes pre-ironed by default, but we offer this service upon request, using steam to remove any wrinkles.
  • Singeing – Removes excess fibers from the fabric, giving it extra softness and a more refined appearance.
  • Waterproofing or Impregnation – Adds a liquid-repellent finish.
  • Fireproofing – A treatment that improves the fabric’s fire resistance, significantly reducing its flammability and preventing flame spread.
  • Calendering – A printing process using heat and pressure to transfer sublimation inks onto the fabric. This enhances the final product’s appearance while ensuring color durability and wear resistance.
  • Softening – Reduces the natural stiffness of the fibers, making the fabric more flexible and pleasant to the touch. Ideal for applications in home decor, upholstery, and textiles.
  • Washing – Helps clean and soften the fibers, removing natural residues, dust, and impurities from production. This results in a more uniform, manageable, and visually appealing fabric.
  • Embroidery – Decorative process where designs are stitched onto the fabric, adding a unique, personalized, and artisanal touch. Ideal for fashion, decor, and personalized products.
  • Stiffening – Adds rigidity and structure to the fabric, enhancing its stability and durability. Ideal for shoe soles, curtains, upholstery, and decorative items.
  • Gluing – Involves applying a layer of glue or rubber to the fibers to strengthen the structure and reduce fraying.
  • Stretching (Rameuse Process) – A fabric stretching and stabilization process using heat and tension to align the fibers.
  • Folding – The fabric is pleated or folded into specific sections for easier handling and transport.
  • Printing – Allows the application of patterns or designs using specific inks, adding customization and style to the fabric.
  • Oxygenation or Oiling – Treatment with oxygen or special oils to improve softness and reduce any natural fiber odor.
  • Lamination – A protective layer (plastic or paper) is applied to make the jute more resistant to water and wear.
  • Paper Application – A process combining the texture of jute with the practicality of paper, making it useful for crafts and stationery.
  • Antibacterial Treatment – Prevents bacterial growth on the fabric, ideal for products that come into contact with people or food.
  • Antistatic Treatment – Reduces the buildup of static electricity in the fibers, useful in industrial applications and environments sensitive to static.
  • Aromatization – Adds a light, pleasant fragrance to the jute, ideal for decorative and packaging applications.
  • Bagging – The jute is wrapped and packed in bags for protection during transport and storage.

These treatments ensure a high-quality and functional finish while maintaining our commitment to sustainability.
